HVAC Maintenance Plans in Oakesdale
A maintenance plan gets your furnace and AC checked on a schedule. We look for the cause of small problems before they turn into a no-heat night. Members get regular tune-ups, money off repairs and an earlier spot when they need us.

What a plan does for your equipment
Most furnace and AC breakdowns don't come out of nowhere. A capacitor weakens over a summer. A flame sensor gets coated and the furnace starts shutting off early. A filter clogs and the coil ices up. A tune-up is when we catch these, while they're still cheap to fix.
Plans start at $14.99 a month. That pays for your seasonal tune-ups, takes money off any repair you need and moves you up the list when you call. We come out before heating season and again before cooling season, test the system while it runs and tell you plainly what we found.
If something needs fixing, we show you the worn part and explain why it's failing. You get a written quote before any work begins. Nothing gets replaced just because it's on a checklist.
What's in each visit
Furnace safety and burner check
We inspect the burners, ignitor and flame sensor, look over the heat exchanger for cracks and test for carbon monoxide at the furnace. We also make sure the flue is venting the way it should.
AC and heat pump performance test
We measure refrigerant pressures and the temperature drop across the coil with the system running. Numbers tell us more than a quick look. A low reading points us to a leak or a failing part, not just a top-off.
Electrical parts and connections
Capacitors, contactors and wiring get tested with a meter. Weak capacitors are one of the most common summer failures, and they show their age before they quit.
Outdoor unit cleaning
We rinse the condenser coil and clear debris from around the unit. Dust and chaff from summer fields can pack the fins and make the compressor work harder.
Filter, drain and thermostat
We change or check the filter, flush the condensate drain and confirm the thermostat reads the room correctly and calls for heat or cooling when it should.
A plain report
You get a short written rundown of what we tested, what looked good and what to keep an eye on.
Signs your system is overdue for a tune-up
Longer run times
If the furnace or AC runs longer to reach the same temperature, something is slowing it down. Often it's a dirty coil, a clogged filter or a part getting weak.
Higher bills, same settings
A jump on your energy bill with no change at the thermostat usually means the system is working harder than it should.
Short cycling
Equipment that kicks on and off every few minutes wears out faster. A dirty flame sensor or a failing control are common causes.
New noises or smells
Squealing, rattling or a burning smell is worth a look. A little dust burn-off on the first cold-weather startup is normal. Anything after that is not.
No checkup in over a year
If you can't remember the last visit, it's been too long. One visit for heat and one for cooling each year keeps small issues small.
How a plan visit goes
- 1
We set the date
We reach out to set up the fall heating visit and the spring cooling visit, so you don't have to remember. Members get first pick of the open slots.
- 2
We run the system first
Before we take anything apart, we run it and listen. Temperatures, pressures and amp draw tell us where to look.
- 3
We clean, test and adjust
Then comes the hands-on work: cleaning, tightening connections, testing safety controls and clearing the drain. We protect your floors and clean up before we leave.
- 4
We tell you what we found
If a part is wearing out, we show you and put the repair in a written quote with your plan discount. You decide what happens next. We back the work with a 1-year labor warranty on all repairs.
What affects the cost of a plan
The plan covers your scheduled tune-ups. What changes the price is how many systems you have and what kind they are. Any repair found during a visit is quoted separately, in writing, before we start.
- Number of systems
- One furnace and one central AC is a standard setup. A second system, or a home with several ductless heads, takes more time per visit.
- Type of equipment
- Heat pumps and ductless mini-splits work in both seasons, so their checks look different from a furnace and AC. A heat pump with a backup furnace gets both sets of tests.
- Age and condition
- Older equipment often needs more cleaning and closer testing the first time. After that first visit, things usually settle down.
- Access
- A furnace in a tight crawlspace or attic takes longer to reach and service than one in an open basement or utility room.
Maintenance plan questions
Something not covered here? (509) 584-4328
Is a tune-up worth it if my system is working fine?
Usually, yes. Most parts give warning signs on a meter well before you'd notice anything at home. Catching a weak capacitor in May costs far less than replacing a burned-out fan motor in July. A clean system also uses less energy.
What happens if you find a problem during the visit?
We show you the part and explain what's going on and why. You get a written quote before any work begins, with your plan discount applied. If you want to wait or think it over, that's fine.
Do plan members get help faster when something breaks?
Members go to the front of our schedule. We also handle 24/7 emergency HVAC repair for everyone, with no emergency or after-hours fees. If you call with a breakdown, we start by finding the actual cause.
What credentials stand behind your techs?
HVAC Oakesdale is licensed and bonded in Washington. We also carry $1M general liability insurance, so you're covered while we work in your home. Ask us about either when you call.
When should the visits happen?
Early fall for heating, before the first cold nights, and spring for cooling, before the heat sets in. Getting in ahead of the season means you're not waiting when every system in the area gets its first hard workout.
Does the plan cover heat pumps and mini-splits?
Yes. Heat pumps and ductless mini-splits run most of the year, so they get the same twice-a-year checks. On mini-splits we also clean the indoor heads and their filters.
