AC Repair in Oakesdale
When your air conditioner quits or blows warm, we find out why before we touch a part. You get a clear answer, a written quote before any work begins, and a repair that holds. We answer day or night, with no emergency or after-hours fees.

Fix the cause, not just the symptom
A warm house is a symptom. The cause might be a small, cheap part or a failing compressor, and guessing wrong costs you twice. So we test before we replace. We check pressures, electrical readings and airflow, then tell you what we found in plain words.
Most AC breakdowns trace back to a short list: a weak capacitor, a dirty coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a bad contactor or a frozen indoor coil. On the Palouse, summer dust and field chaff pack outdoor coils fast, which makes the unit run hot and wear out parts early. Once we know which one it is, the fix is usually straightforward.
We are licensed and bonded in Washington, and every repair carries our 1-year labor warranty. If the fix fails because of our work, we come back and make it right.

What an AC repair visit includes
- 01
Full system diagnosis
We test the outdoor unit, the indoor coil, the blower and the thermostat. That way we catch the second problem hiding behind the first one.
- 02
Electrical checks
Capacitors, contactors and wiring fail more than anything else. We meter each one instead of swapping parts to see what happens.
- 03
Refrigerant leak testing
If the system is low, it has a leak. We look for where it is before adding refrigerant, so you are not paying to top it off every summer.
- 04
Coil and drain cleaning
Dirty coils and clogged condensate drains cause a lot of shutdowns and water leaks. We clean what needs it as part of the repair.
- 05
Written quote first
You see the price in writing before we start. Our diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair if you go ahead.
- 06
Straight talk on repair or replace
If an older unit is costing more to keep running than it is worth, we tell you. If a repair makes sense, we say that too. Our AC Installation page covers the replacement side.
Questions about AC Repair?
Call(509) 584-4328When your AC is telling you something
Vents blowing warm
Air moves through the house, but it never gets cold. A dead capacitor, a refrigerant leak or a caked outdoor coil are the usual suspects.
Outdoor unit won't start
You hear a hum or a click but the fan and compressor stay quiet. Leaving it like that can burn out the compressor, so shut it off and get it checked.
Ice on the lines or coil
Frost on the copper line or indoor coil means poor airflow or low refrigerant. Turn the system off and let it thaw before we arrive.
Water around the indoor unit
A plugged condensate drain or a cracked pan can soak a floor or ceiling. It is usually a quick fix if caught early.
Short cycling
The AC kicks on and off every few minutes. That wears out parts and leaves rooms uneven.
Higher bills, same use
A unit losing efficiency works longer to do the same job. Something is slipping, even if the house still feels cool.
How a repair day goes
- 1
You call, we answer
Tell us what the system is doing and when it started. We answer around the clock, and we will give you a couple of safe things to check while you wait.
- 2
We test before we guess
Our tech walks the whole system, takes readings and finds the actual fault. We show you the failed part or the readings so you can see it for yourself.
- 3
Written quote, your call
You get a written price for the repair. Nothing starts until you say yes.
- 4
Repair and confirm
Once the new part is in, we let the AC run a while and take a second round of readings to prove it is cooling the way it should. Then we pick up our tools and debris so your home looks like we were never there.
What affects the cost of AC repair
Two things set most of the price: what broke and how hard it is to get at. We won't throw out a number over the phone before seeing the system, because a guess helps nobody. After we pin down the cause, you get a written price before any work.
- The failed part
- A capacitor or contactor is a small repair. A compressor, coil or fan motor costs much more in parts and labor.
- Refrigerant type and leaks
- Older systems use refrigerant that is costly and harder to get. Finding and sealing a leak adds time but saves you repeat refills.
- Age and condition
- A worn system may need more than one fix at once. We point out what is urgent and what can wait.
- Access
- Units in tight crawlspaces, attics or behind fences take longer to work on. Time of day does not change the price, since we charge no emergency or after-hours fees.
AC repair questions
Do you charge extra for nights or weekends?
No. We have no emergency or after-hours fees. A repair at midnight costs the same as one at noon.
How does the diagnostic fee work?
We charge a diagnostic fee to find the problem. If you go ahead with the repair, that fee is credited toward it. You get a written quote before we start.
Is it worth repairing an older AC?
It depends on what failed and the shape of the rest of the system. A cheap electrical part on a sound unit is worth fixing. A failed compressor on an old unit often is not, and we will tell you that plainly.
Can you just add refrigerant?
We can, but low refrigerant means there is a leak. Topping it off without finding the leak means you will be short again. We find the leak first and give you options.
What if the repair doesn't hold?
Every repair comes with our 1-year labor warranty. If our work fails in that time, we come back and fix it. We also carry $1M general liability insurance while we work at your home.
