Furnace Installation in Oakesdale
We put in new furnaces that fit your home, not just the old one's label. We measure, run the numbers and check your venting and gas line first. Then you get a written quote, and the install goes the way we said it would.

When a New Furnace Is the Right Call
A lot of furnaces get replaced that could have been fixed. A lot of others get patched year after year when the money would be better spent on a new one. We look at the actual problem first, then tell you straight which way makes sense.
When replacement is the answer, the most common mistake is copying the size off the old unit. Many older furnaces were oversized from the start. An oversized furnace short-cycles, runs loud, leaves cold rooms and wears out early. We size the new one from your home's square footage, insulation, windows and air leaks.
We install natural gas and propane furnaces, standard and high-efficiency. If you are weighing a heat pump instead, we can walk you through that too.
What Your Installation Includes
Load calculation
We measure the house and figure how much heat it actually loses on a cold night. That number picks the furnace size, not a guess.
Venting checked and set up
A high-efficiency furnace vents through PVC pipe and needs a condensate drain. A standard furnace uses a metal flue, and swapping one out can leave a water heater on a flue that is too big. We check all of it and fix it as part of the job.
Gas or propane connection
We connect the fuel line, add a new shutoff and sediment trap where needed, and leak-test every joint.
New thermostat wiring
We wire the thermostat to match the new furnace's controls, so staging and fan settings work as designed.
Permit and inspection
We pull the mechanical permit and schedule the inspection. The work is done to code so it passes the first time. The signed permit stays on record with your home, which helps if you ever sell.
Old unit hauled away
We remove the old furnace, take it with us and clean up the work area.
Signs It May Be Time to Replace Your Furnace
Repairs keep stacking up
If you have paid for a part every winter for a few years, the next one is coming. We will add up what the old unit is costing you.
Cracked heat exchanger
A crack can let combustion gases into the air you breathe. On most older furnaces this is not worth repairing, and we will show you what we found.
Rooms that never get warm
Uneven heat often points to a furnace that is the wrong size or a blower that is worn out.
Higher gas or propane bills
An older furnace slowly loses efficiency. If usage is climbing and your habits have not changed, the furnace is a likely cause.
Age past 15 to 20 years
Age alone is not a reason to replace. Combined with any of the signs above, it usually is.
How the Job Goes
- 1
Look before we quote
We come out, inspect the old furnace, measure the house and check venting, gas supply and electrical. Estimates are free on installations and replacements.
- 2
Written quote
You get a written quote before any work begins. It lists the furnace, the venting work and any extras, so nothing shows up later.
- 3
Install day
We lay down floor covers, shut off gas and power, pull the old unit and set the new one. Most swaps take one day.
- 4
Start-up and testing
We fire it up, measure gas pressure, temperature rise and combustion, and check for carbon monoxide. Then we show you the filter, the thermostat and the shutoffs.
- 5
Inspection
The inspector signs off on the permit. If anything needs adjusting, we come back and take care of it.
What Moves the Price
Every house is different, so we do not quote over the phone without seeing it. The price comes down to the furnace you pick and what it takes to put it in right. Your written quote spells out each part.
- Size and efficiency
- A larger or higher-efficiency furnace costs more up front. A high-efficiency unit uses less fuel over its life, which matters through a long Palouse winter.
- Venting changes
- Going from a standard to a high-efficiency furnace means new PVC vent runs and a condensate drain. Keeping a metal flue may mean a liner for the water heater.
- Location and access
- A furnace in a tight crawlspace or attic takes more time than one in an open basement or garage.
- Gas line and electrical
- Some homes need a bigger gas line, a new shutoff or an updated circuit to meet code.
- Permit
- The mechanical permit and inspection are part of the job, and we include them in the quote.
Furnace Installation Questions

Can you just fix my old furnace instead?
Often, yes. We find the cause first and tell you if a repair makes sense. If it does, you get a 1-year labor warranty on all repairs. If the heat exchanger is cracked or the repairs will not stop, we will say so.
How long will I be without heat?
Most replacements take one day, and we get the heat back on before we leave. If your old furnace dies in the middle of winter, we offer 24/7 emergency HVAC repair and can keep you warm while we plan the replacement.
Should I get a heat pump instead of a furnace?
It depends on your home and your fuel. Many people pair a heat pump with a gas or propane furnace for backup on the coldest nights. We also offer help claiming Avista rebates and federal tax credits on heat pumps. See our Heat Pumps page for more.
Are you insured for work in my home?
Yes. We carry $1M general liability insurance, and we are licensed and bonded in Washington.
Do you install in towns outside Oakesdale?
Yes. We work in Colfax, Pullman, Cheney, Spokane and the other towns listed on our Service Areas page.
How do I keep the new furnace running well?
Change the filter on schedule and get a tune-up each fall. Our Maintenance Plans cover yearly tune-ups, repair discounts and priority scheduling.
